Vanilla Oil is not technically an essential oil, as vanilla beans cannot withstand the high heat required for steam distillation, nor can oil be extracted through mechanical pressing. Instead, the aromatic compounds are obtained through solvent extraction from cured and fermented vanilla beans, creating the rich, luxurious oil commonly known as Vanilla Absolute or Oil of Vanilla.
Highly prized in professional aromatherapy, natural perfumery, and luxury skincare, Vanilla Oil offers a warm, sweet, comforting aroma that promotes relaxation and emotional wellbeing. Its rich scent is often used to create calming, cozy atmospheres while helping to ease feelings of stress, tension, and emotional fatigue.
Vanilla Oil is also valued in skincare and beauty formulations thanks to its nourishing and antioxidant-rich properties. It is commonly included in creams, body oils, balms, perfumes, candles, soaps, and massage blends where its soft, indulgent fragrance adds warmth and depth.
In aromatherapy, a few drops can be added to a diffuser, oil burner, or natural room spray to fill the space with a soothing and uplifting aroma. Its comforting scent blends beautifully with sandalwood, patchouli, orange, bergamot, jasmine, rose, ylang ylang, lavender, and other warm floral or spice oils.
Due to its concentrated nature, Vanilla Oil should always be diluted appropriately before topical use.
